Hangouts On Air Moving from Google+ to YouTube Live on September 12

In a post on Google’s support page, the company has announced that Hangouts On Air will be moving from Google+ to YouTube Live on September 12. Hangouts On Air was introduced back in 2012, together with multiple features for Hangouts, Google’s messaging application.

Google informs us that Hangouts On Air will be moving from Google+ to YouTube Live starting September 12. Users who wish to schedule new Hangouts On Air events will need to use YouTube Live following September 12, and they will have to move existing events set to happen after this date as well.

At the time of its launch in 2012, there weren’t many platforms that offered live streaming for users, and Hangouts On Air did enjoy some popularity until Facebook Live and Periscope debuted.
