How to install FlipaClip as an Android app

In order to install this app on your ChromeOS whether that be on a Chromebook or whatever else, you can do that following our instructions right below.

  1. Choose where you want to download the app from:
  2. Once FlipaClip is installed, launch it from the Launcher (app drawer) or the shelf (taskbar). Click the FlipaClip icon to load it.

Once you have the downloading out of the way, you can read more about the app and see if it is worth your time. I was quite surprised to hear that this neat little app and I say little because it is less than 80MB, officially listed as 77MB at the original time of this post. That is impressive for what it can do. Once I loaded it up on my Chromebook, it loaded pretty fast, less than a second and I was already playing around with it and luckily for us ChromeOS users, this app works perfectly on modern Chromebooks that is why it won the 2023 App of the year according to Google. I will be honest, I was a bit shocked when I read that but now after using it for a few hours, I can’t really disagree if you want to make some quick animations and share them on your social media profiles like TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X(twitter), Bilibili, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat and whatever else is out there, this app can do that with just a clip, that is quiet nice I must say.

The real value of this app though is how easy it is to learn how to animate and how a beginner like myself or you can look like a professional within days. Let me show you all an example on one of my favorite features.

This feature is called Onion Skinning. Yeah, last week was also my first time hearing about it. What does it mean? Onion skinning is a method in cartoon animation that lets you view multiple frames at the same time. It displays slightly see-through versions of the drawings before and after the frame you’re working on. This helps animators decide how to draw or adjust a picture by looking at the one that came before it. I hope that makes sense? It will later on once you play around with it yourself. Anyway, so this ended up being a feature that I kept going to because it really allowed me to use my creativity to make smoother animations. By seeing the past and future frames, I could make sure each movement flowed nicely into the next. It’s like getting a sneak peek of how your animation will look in the end, which is super helpful for beginners. The more you use onion skinning, the easier it becomes to create animations that look really professional and lifelike.

You should also check our list of Chromebooks that can run Android apps and games. If your ChromeOS device is on the list or if it was made after 2017, it can most likely run this app without any issues. Let us know in the comments what you think about this app, a great app for those of you interested in how to make movies and animated gifs on your own.
