How to Enable Developer Mode
Follow these steps exactly. The process takes about 10–15 minutes.
- Turn off your Chromebook completely.
- Press and hold Esc + Refresh (↻) keys, then tap the Power button.
- Release the keys when the “Recovery” screen appears (white screen saying “ChromeOS is missing or damaged”).
- Press Ctrl + D on your keyboard.
- You will see a prompt asking to confirm. Press Enter.
- The system will reboot and beep. Wait for the transition process. Do not turn it off.
Pro Tip: Every time you reboot, you will see the “OS Verification is OFF” warning. Press Ctrl + D to skip it.

Can You Enable Dev Mode on a School Chromebook?
