Dreamscape on Chromebook

Hello everyone, you can download Dreamscape for Chromebook and experience one of the highest rated educational games on the Google Play Store. After playing it myself for a few hours, I see why.

Today we will highlight some reasons why we think you should definitely give Dreamscape a chance on your Chrome OS device. First of all, let me say that this game is suitable for any age really but it is targeted towards children 2-8. Either way, if you want to improve your reading, this is actually a great game to try. I have been playing it for the past 2 hours or a little less, just experimenting and then I told my nephew to try it, he is 7, and he said it wasn’t “bad” and he added that, the game is better than going to school to learn to read. Lol, so there you have it from the targeted audience themselves. As I was saying in my previous post about Minecraft education, gaming and education need to blend in even more, it’s the future whether we like it or not. Gaming has a chance to make education more ‘fun’ by introducing games like Dreamscape to a larger audience, I don’t see why not. Let us know in the comments what you think about this app and if it something you think your school or organization might find useful.

What is Dreamscape about?

Dreamscape is a free digital reading game for students in grades 2-8. Its unique multiplayer video game design creates a fun and engaging environment when it comes to literacy. Adaptive algorithms ensure each student is placed at a skill level that keeps them in their zone of proximal development, and real-time analytics keeps teachers and parents well informed of how their children are performing and progressing when it comes to reading comprehension. Integrated with Google and Clever, educators are easily able to import their class to Dreamscape, create in-game assignments, and track student skill progress.

Dreamscape basically combines the strategy and engagement of popular base-building games with imaginative reading passages and interactive questions to create a ferociously fun literacy game! Players of Dreamscape are dropped into the realm of dreams and are tasked with defending their “dwell” (the place where their own dreams live and are created) from invading “reveries” (dream creatures). In order to collect resources and build new structures to defend their dwell, students must read passages and answer comprehension questions. The goal of the game is to build your dwell to higher and higher levels, create new reveries of your own, and collect shards to climb up the leaderboard and face-off against other players.
