Acer Chromebook 516 GEAcer chromebook ge 16 how it looks

I don’t think you will be surprised on why I chose this masterpiece as my favorite gaming Chromebook. The Acer Chromebook 516 GE is a powerhouse that comes with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core with the i7 P-Series which should NOT be underrated. It also comes with up to 16GB of ram, DDR4 of course, and somehow someway, it still manages to be lightweight compared to some of the other models we have listed on here.

On top of that it comes with an excellent battery that lasts between 7-9 hours depending on what you are doing, for me, usually it lasts 7 hours but many others including Acer themselves have said it lasts up to 9 hours for most tasks.

I am hoping they continue this series and I am sure it will, they are popular and Google themselves promote on their website so the future is bright, you literally can’t go wrong choosing this Chromebook to play games UNLESS of course you worry about storage, it comes with an SSD of up to 256 but as we know, you can expand this by buying an external SSD.

Lenovo IdeaPad 16″ Gaming Chromebook

Lenovo ideapad gaming chromebook how it looks like

Despite being the ‘oldest’ Chromebook on this list, making it’s debut in late 2022 the reliable Lenovo IdeaPad 16 inch Chromebook delivers where it has to. I am a big fan of Lenovo and I have maybe 2-3 Lenovo Windows laptops in my room that I use weekly so I had to put this one on the list and it is worth it.

It comes with a U series Intel Core which is great to handle most apps and of course cloud gaming. It is 16 inches like it’s name suggests and it is closer to weighing 5 pounds than not, despite all that it still comes with a number pad that most of these Chromebooks on here are missing and it also doesn’t have a touchscreen but makes up with it with the 120Hz 2560×1600 ray tracing display.

Lenovo IdeaPad 16″ Gaming Chromebook Features & Specs:

  • Processor: Up to 12th Gen Intel Core i5
  • Screen: 16″ WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS anti-glare, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Memory: Up to 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • Weight: 4.30 Pounds
  • Graphics: Intel Iris XE Graphics
  • Storage:  Up to 256GB SSD
  • Networking: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth
  • Battery life: Up to 12 hours
  • Ports:
    • 1x audio jack
    • 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports
    • 2x USB Type-A ports

What you will like:🙂

  • Fairly priced with great gaming performance
  • RGB backlit keyboard that is customizable
  • Number Pad for those of you who can’t go without

What you might not like:😟

  • It’s a tad bit old(released in 2022)
  • No touchscreen
  • Not the most powerful processor
  • No Thunderbolt 4  or Ethernet ports

Acer Chromebook Spin 714 2023

Acer chromebook spin 714 how it looks like

Well a lot of people claim the Acer Spin 714 Chromebook series as the best Chromebooks out there overall and the video I shared below seems to agree with that. BUT, while I also love this machine, can I just say that Acer, please organize your Chromebooks and models, it is very confusing when you release 10+ models with the same name but completely different specs and limited places to buy it, please fix this.

Anyway, besides that, this machine is as advertised, it’s packed with a powerful processor of up to 13th Gen i7 and 16 DDR4 Ram to complete the core. The Display is Corning Gorilla Glass which means it is well protected and it won’t scratch easily. It comes with a standard 256GB SSD that you can of course add on and a powerful Wifi 6.0E which is perfect for cloud gaming.

Acer Chromebook Spin 714 2023 Features & Specs:

  • Processor: Up to 13th Gen Intel i7 processor
  • Screen: 14-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS narrow-bezel touch display
  • Memory (RAM): Up to 16GB LPDDR4X
  • Weight: 3.09 pounds
  • Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics
  • Storage: 256GB SSD
  • Networking: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2
  • Battery life: Up to 10 hours
  • Ports:
    • 1x HDMI Port
    • 1x audio jack
    • 2x Thunderbolt 4(Thunderbolt ports are USB-C compatible)

What you will like:🙂

  • Responsive Touchscreen with different modes
  • Powerful 13th Gen Intel i7 core that can handle anything you throw at it
  • Durable and light weight

What you might not like:😟
