Boosteroid on Chromebook: Install Guide, Prices and Features (2026)

Boosteroid is a cloud gaming service that streams PC games to your Chromebook or Googlebook. The games run on Boosteroid’s remote gaming rigs, so you can play demanding titles without a gaming PC or big downloads. Googlebooks run Chrome too, so you can also play in the browser there.
With Xbox adding cloud hour limits in November 2026, Boosteroid’s promise of unlimited play makes it worth a fresh look. This guide covers setup, the new prices and what you need.

Method 1: Install the Boosteroid Android app
- Open the Google Play Store on your Chromebook.
- Search for “Boosteroid”.
- Click Install.
- Open Boosteroid from your launcher or shelf.
- Sign up or log in, then pick a game.

Method 2: Install the Boosteroid PWA
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for “Boosteroid Cloud Gaming PWA”.
- Click Install.
- Launch it from your launcher and sign in.
Get it: Boosteroid Cloud Gaming PWA. Boosteroid describes this version as built for Chromebook, and it was updated in October 2026.
Which should you pick? the Android app feels like a native app, while the PWA is lighter and works like the website. Both give you the full library.
How Boosteroid works
- Sign in to your Boosteroid account.
- Find a supported game in the catalog.
- Connect the game store account where you own it.
- Launch the game and play.
Your own games: most games must be bought separately on a supported PC store, while some free-to-play games need no purchase. Boosteroid does not include a game library like Game Pass.
Controls: use your Chromebook’s keyboard and mouse or a compatible gamepad, depending on the game.
Boosteroid plans and prices in 2026
Price change: Boosteroid announced the new prices on September 15, 2026. Members with an active subscription keep their current price as long as it stays active.
Unlimited play: in the same announcement, Boosteroid promised “No monthly limits, now or going forward.” Plan details come from Boosteroid’s help center.

Tip: Boosteroid recommends setting your bitrate about 30% lower than your connection speed, and testing your connection on its website rather than on other speed test sites.

Do I need a controller? no. Many games work with your keyboard and mouse.
Can I play without a subscription? no, Boosteroid needs a paid plan. The yearly Ultra plan is the cheapest at about €7.49 a month.
Are there playtime limits? no. Boosteroid says it has no monthly hour caps.
Why is gameplay laggy? check that you meet the speed table above and use Ethernet or 5GHz Wi-Fi.
Does it work offline? no, you need a constant internet connection.
