Mote Extension on Chrome

Hello everyone, you can download Mote for Chrome and experience an extension that allows you to  add voice comments and audio content to assignments, documents, emails and forms.

How to install Mote Extension

In order to install this extension on your Chrome Browser whether that be on a Chromebook or whatever else, you can do that following our instructions right below.

  1. Choose where you want to download the Chrome extension from:
  2. Once Mote is installed, look for the extensions’ icon in the top right corner of the browser window. It might be near the address bar with a puzzle icon or in the overflow menu (three dots).

Today we want to highlight some reasons why you might find this interesting extension useful and for some of you a complete game changer, with that said,  let’s go ahead and give this extension a try on your favorite browser, whether its Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or something else, as long as it is built on the Chromium engine. Anyway, I just installed Mote a few hours ago and it’s nice and easy to learn how to use in literally just under 5 minutes of browsing what it can do. What I found is that this tool/extension is really geared towards the education sector, you can argue also the business sector but that’s a story for another day. Mote is a Chrome extension that helps teachers and students in a really fun and effective way. It works with Google’s apps like Classroom, Docs, and Slides. Imagine a teacher wants to tell a student how well they did on their homework. Instead of typing it out, they can speak into Mote and leave a voice message. It’s like getting a personal note from the teacher and you can imagine the impact that can have on both the teacher and the student, I think it’s brilliant.

Mote is also great for students learning new languages or needing extra help, as it can turn spoken words into written ones in different languages and last I read, it had over 44 languages that it can translate from and many more coming. Below is a screenshot of how you can quickly translate your audio transcript to another audio language or text.

This sounds great right? But, unfortunately, even though it is free to use, you are limited to about 20 voice notes a month, they have different tiers with different prices, this was a bit of a surprise to me because I found this out at the last minute, but I still decided to add it on our website because it is useful as you can see and like I mentioned, it is geared towards the education sector.

Let us know in the comments if you will give this Chrome extension a try or if you have already tried it, don’t be shy.
