Share
Key Takeaways: Gemini Notebook
Short Video Overviews: turn a tricky concept into a 60-second video you can watch on the go or share with a classmate.
Interactive Learning Overviews: a step-by-step walk through your notes, lectures and readings, found under Reports.
More quiz types: short-answer, multi-select and fill-in-the-blank questions join the quiz tools.
Feedback on your weak spots: after a quiz or flashcard review, ask your notebook where to focus next.

Exam season is coming, and Google wants Gemini Notebook to do more of the heavy lifting. In a new Google blog post, the company highlights three recently launched study features that make reviewing your coursework more structured.

Google’s Lisa Oguike walks through the three new Gemini Notebook study features in this short video. Video: Google

1. Short Video Overviews

60-second explainers: if you are stuck on a tricky concept, Gemini Notebook can now generate a 60-second Short Video Overview to unpack it. Google says they are easy to watch on the go or share with a classmate.

2. Interactive Learning Overviews

A guided review: if you have dozens of notes, lectures and readings, you can create an Interactive Learning Overview under Reports. It walks you through your material step by step.

Built from your own material: it weaves together summaries and studio outputs like slides, quizzes and flashcards, all grounded strictly in your coursework.

3. Expanded quiz formats

New question types: quizzes now include short-answer, multi-select and fill-in-the-blank options.

Know what to study next: after a quiz or a flashcard session, you can ask your notebook for feedback to pinpoint where to focus.

How to try them

Open your notebook: Google says you can try all three with your own materials at notebook.google.

Rollout details: when Google first announced these tools in September, it said Short Video Overviews would come in more than 80 languages, starting with AI Ultra subscribers before AI Pro and others. Interactive Learning Overviews and the new quiz formats were set to roll out to all users.

Our take: these are small but useful upgrades. The 60-second videos and the feedback after quizzes are the standouts if you are cramming on a Chromebook between classes.
